  • $22.9 Million Jury Verdict. 39-Year-old Union Ironworker fell 12 feet from atop an electrical room rooftop, upon which he was directed to stand, in order to torque test bolts that were installed on a steel beam during the construction of a highway bridge. The issues to be determined by the jury were whether he was provided with the proper tie-off protection and a proper work platform. He underwent two spinal surgeries and despite attempting to return to work, eventually, he was forced to end his ironworking career due to his injuries.   • $13.7 Million Jury Verdict: Union Steamfitter – Construction Site Accident. Injured when the personnel hoist he was descending on to go to lunch break with fellow co-workers suddenly free dropped striking the bumper springs below ground level. He had cervical and lumbar spinal surgeries which ended his career.   • $9.5 Million settled while at trial time with judicial mediation Judge for another firm’s client who was a young union iron worker who was struck on his neck and shoulder by a falling plank which was being used to secure a fire blanket.
